

MUSCAT: Under the auspices of Yaqoob Khalfan al Busaidi, Under-Secretary of Fisheries Wealth, Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries Wealth & Water Resources, Faculty of Business Studies & Faculty of Computer Studies, Arab Open University, Oman organised a colloquium on "Empowering Oman as a production and export hub of Seafood Value-added products" on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at the AOU New Campus in Al Mabella.
The colloquium was chaired by Prof Mohammed Hamdan al Badi, Rector of AOU-Oman. The colloquium discussed the effective strategies for empowering Oman as a production and export hub of seafood value-added products to export value-added seafood products from Oman. The colloquium have two keynote addressed by Eng Redha Said Bait Faraj, DG of the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries Wealth, & Water Resources and Viju Puthusseril of Bell Foods Group.
The panel discussion was moderated by Sultana Sulaiman al Jardani, Business Intelligence Associate at Fisheries Development Oman. The Panel Member includes Eng Dawood Sulaiman al Wahaibi, Chairman of Five Oceans LLC, Mohammed Ameen, Managing Director of Sea Pride LLC, Rumaitha al Busaidi, Secretary General of World Aquaculture Society, Naif Habib al Raisi, General Manager, of AMAQ Group, Dr Kabaly P Subramanian, Program Coordinator, Faculty of Business Studies AOU- Oman and Eldho Mathew, General Manager Barzman National LLC. This colloquium is part of the Research Grant Program funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation, (MOHERI) and headed by Dr Mohammed al Haziazi, Assistant Rector for Academic Affairs & Research, AOU-Oman.
