Al Dakhiliyah Governorate has been chosen as the distinguished icon for the celebration of World Intellectual Property Day in the Sultanate of Oman. Al Dakhiliyah’s selection serves as a testament to the governorate's exceptional cultural and civilizational heritage, as well as its commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. The commemoration aims to cultivate a competitive spirit and nurture a culture of innovation among the youth of the region.


Central to this recognition is the governorate's remarkable ability to leverage its rich heritage as a driving force for innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth. The celebration endeavors to create a sustainable environment that promotes the dissemination of technical knowledge, fostering social and economic development not only within Al Dakhiliyah Governorate but also across other regions.


In an interview with the Observer, Shaikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, highlighted the importance of intellectual property (IP) rights for economic development. He reiterated the governorate's commitment to creating an enabling environment for innovation and entrepreneurship, recognizing the crucial role played by IP rights in achieving this objective.


Shaikh Hilal also extended his gratitude to the institutions that have actively supported the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. He also expressed his appreciation for the young individuals in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, recognizing their creativity and innovation as the foundation for a prosperous future.


With a flourishing environment for creativity and a commitment to education, the governorate serves as a role model for others in Oman and the wider region, he added.
