MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued Royal Decree No 31/2023 promulgating the School Education Law, after presenting the same before the Council of Oman.
The Royal Decree reads as follows:
Article (1) states that the School Education Law attached to this decree shall be enforced.
Article (2) states that the Minister of Education shall issue the executive regulation for the attached law. The minister also issues the bylaws and decisions necessary for the implementation of the attached School Education Law. Till such time, the existing regulations and decisions shall be enforced without prejudice to the provisions of the attached law.
Article (3) annuls Royal Decree No 68/77 on establishing private schools. It also cancels all that contradicts the attached law or contravenes its provisions.
Article (4) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from the day following its date of publishing. - ONA
