Bank Muscat to participate in 32nd edition of COMEX

MUSCAT: In line with its commitment to promote digitalisation, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, has announced its participation in the 32nd edition of COMEX, which will be held on May 22-25, 2023 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. As the largest Technology, Communications, Innovation and Digital Transformation show in the Sultanate of Oman, COMEX 2023 offers exhibitors and visitors a comprehensive and highly-specialised platform for industry-leading discussions, knowledge-sharing and B2B meetings and the bank’s participation and support are in line with its role in strengthening national development and digitalisation of the economy.

Organised by Oman International Trade and Exhibitions (OITE) Group in partnership with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology and the implementation follow-up unit of Oman Vision 2040, COMEX 2023 aims to boost the concept of digital investments in Oman. It encourages Omani companies to adapt the latest technological breakthroughs and advances in a manner that is consistent with Oman Vision 2040’s goals supportive to digital transformation. This year’s edition will be attended by more than 100 local and international organisations, government entities and corporates.

This includes demonstrating its secure QR code e-payments solution, which is very helpful for small and micro businesses in accepting e-payments from customers, thereby meeting the regulations on providing e-payment options. Bank Muscat has been witnessing a remarkable rise in e-channels usage over the past two years. Today, over 1.6 million retail banking customers are using various features like real-time bill payments for utilities in Oman, fund transfers within the bank and in Oman, fund transfers across the world via the SWIFT network; speed transfers to a number of countries including Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka; Zakat calculator and charity payments. Bill payment facility is available for a variety of utility services such as electricity, water, telecom, mobile top ups, instant credit card bill payments, school payments etc. Internet banking and the mBanking app also allow customers to disable or enable their debit card for international usage adding an extra layer of security for the benefit of customers. Customers can also update their KYC details online and benefit from the different services provided by the new Self-service Kiosks.

Bank Muscat also has contactless payment options for shopping and payments through its various debit, credit and prepaid cards as well as contactless wearables.
