Muscat: Joint committees from the State Council and the Shura Council on Tuesday finalized the study of disputed items on the draft "Social Protection Law" and "Labour Law" that were referred by the Council of Ministers.
The joint committees held a number of meetings on articles that raised disagreement between the two councils. The meetings were held in the presence of the members of the two councils, the Secretary-General of the State Council and the Secretary-General of the Shura Council.
Shaikh Mohammed Abdullah al Harthy, Chairman of the Economic Committee at the State Council, affirmed that, through the joint committees, the two councils reached consensus on all articles of disagreement in the above mentioned laws.
The report of those joint committees will be presented to the two councils’ joint session scheduled to be held later this month (May 2023).
