

Muscat: Majlis A'Shura on Monday approved the draft tourism law and decided to refer it to the State Council.
During the session, Ahmed bin Saeed al-Sharqi, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee, said the law with five chapters and 20 articles, in line with developments and changes that the tourism sector at all local, regional, and global levels
The law will contribute to improving the quality of hotel and tourism establishments, ensuring their efficient performance, simplifying procedures regulating various tourism activities, and raising the quality of these facilities in accordance with international standards.
During its study of the draft law, the Shura Council hosted a number of specialists from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Tourism Committee of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry to seek their opinions on some of the draft articles.
