Oman to mark World Intellectual Property Day

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, in cooperation with the Omani Association for Intellectual Property, will mark the World Intellectual Property Day on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.


The celebration ceremony will be held under the auspices of Dr Laila Ahmed al Najjar, Minister of Social Development.


The ceremony will include a visual presentation on the Sultanate of Oman’s national strategy for innovation, a working paper on community awareness and the importance of intellectual property. During the event, winners of the Women's Intellectual Property Competition will be announced.


The event will also be accompanied by an exhibition showcasing the works of the finalists in the competition, in addition to a discussion session in which some female academics, researchers and entrepreneurs will take part to highlight the importance of women’s intellectual property in various aspects.
