MUSCAT: State Audit Institution (SAI) on Tuesday conducted a training programme on auditing tenders, contracts and procurements.
As many as 33 government departments took part in the programme, aimed at empowering the public sector’s professional and functional workforce.
The programme reflects the existing institutional partnership focusing on protecting public funds and raising the efficiency of their use. The programme, which brings together employees of units of the State’s Administrative Apparatus, runs until May 11. Eight groups of trainees will benefit from the programme this year.
The training programme presents anomalies that were revealed to the audit institution during monitoring operations. The aim is to develop the capabilities of the participants and enable them overcome such anomalies in their respective institutions. — ONA
