GHEDEX 2023 begins, themed on building Oman’s human capital

MUSCAT: Building Oman’s human capital is the theme for GHEDEX 2023 inaugurated on April 30 under the auspices of Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim al Mahrouqiyah, Minister for Higher Education, Research and Innovation.


For three days the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre has more than 100 exhibiting educational institutions, with over 40 speakers, hundreds of delegates looking at the future of education and development of human capital.


Oman Innovation Oasis; Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Omani Schools, Colleges and Universities will be held on May 1, 2 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. Teachers and professionals of innovation, entrepreneurship, or business can attend these sessions for free.


The features of GHEDEX 2023, in addition to the Global Higher Education Exhibition, Training Technical Education and Vocational Training Exhibition, Schoolex - Private, International and Boarding Schools Expo, Oman Innovation Oasis Expo, Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Omani schools, Colleges and Universities, as well as student enterprises, GHEDEX Talks, Workshops and GHEDEXHhub.



Visitors to the exhibition also can download the app for higher education, training and skills app for GCC and India.


A unique feature of GHEDEX 2023 is Student Enterprises.


Shouq al Ghailani, SCHOOLEX and Student Enterprises said, “We are bringing together businesses from Universities and schools to network with each other and investors.”


Students with different projects, from different parts of Oman are eagerly waiting for the visitors. Their businesses involve 3D printers, reusing art, crafts, carpentry, customised art and coffee shops. Students from Finland School of Oman expressed their delight in having their opportunity to show case their project.


They said excitedly, “We have had great response and there have 20 requests.”


GHEDEX is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labour.


Global Higher Education Exhibition for 21 years is considered an opportunity for local universities and colleges, accredited international universities and academic institutions to interact, recruit and connect with students, parents, officials and other academic representatives from Oman.
