Muscat: The popular Qurum Beach (Shatti), a popular destination near the Waterfront Complex, has been facing the wrath of rising water levels and subsequent soil erosion, making it difficult for beach lovers to spend some time there in the evening with families.

As a result, the Muscat Municipality is implementing a project to protect the slopes at Al Qurum Beach - Al Sarooj - in the Wilayat of Bausher (covering a length of 1,400 meters), using metal panels, reinforced concrete, and gravel lined with cement.

The project, which includes the construction of a walkway with a width of (1.5) meters along the protections, is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
