The Oman national beach soccer team has begun its preparations for the upcoming Arab Cup 2023 in Jeddah. The tournament will run from May 11 to May 20, with the national team set to compete in Group B alongside Egypt, Palestine and Sudan.

The technical staff has developed a comprehensive programme to ensure the team is well-prepared for the tournament. The national team manager, Nabil al Balushi, has expressed the team's determination to qualify for the final and win the title, building on the strong performances the team showed in the Asian Cup.

The Oman team has already begun contacting other teams to host them in Muscat for a friendly match before travelling to Jeddah at the beginning of next month. The team will begin its campaign in the tournament with a match against Palestine on May 12, followed by a match against Egypt on May 14 and will conclude the group stage by meeting Sudan on May 15.

The Arab Cup returns after a nine-year absence, with the last tournament held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt in 2014. This year's tournament promises to be highly competitive, with the first and second of each group qualifying for the quarterfinals, along with the two best teams occupying third place in the three groups.

The Oman national beach soccer team has a proud history in the competition, having qualified for the World Cup for the fifth time in its history after finishing third in the Asian Championship in Thailand last March.

The Oman team is expected to rely on the same players who participated in the Asian Championship, which includes a mix of experience and youth. The list of players includes Khaled al Araimi, Munther al Araimi, Mishaal al Araimi, Abdullah al Souti, Younes al Owaisi, Amjad al Hamdani, Sami al Balushi, Ahmed al Awaisi, Yahya al Muraiki, Sharif al Balushi, Salem al Araimi, Abdulrahman al Fazari, Hamad al Araimi and Al Yaqdhan al Hendasi.
