Muscat: The police command of South Al Sharqiyah Governorate in cooperation with the Directorate-General for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, arrested a man for possessing more than 17 kg of hashish for trafficking, Royal Oman Police (ROP) wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.


Legal action against the defendant is underway.


Coast Guard vessels of the police command on South Al Batinah Governorate, rounded up 89 people from different Asian nationalities for trying to enter the country illegally on smuggling boats.


The police command of Dhofar Governorate arrested four nationals and three Asians on charges of stealing electric cables from different locations within the governorate.
