Berlin-Brandenburg (BER) airport has canceled around 70 of 240 arrivals scheduled for Monday at the German capital's main airport in response to a day-long strike called by the Verdi services union, its website indicated.
A BER spokesman said the number was not expected to change throughout the day.
Verdi has called out its members in security, passenger checks, and goods control.
In response, BER canceled all passenger departures, as passengers could not be checked before boarding.
Take-offs without passengers were able to proceed, and airlines were taking advantage of this to move planes to their required locations.
