Al Suwaiq secure late victory against Dhofar

Al Nahda on top, Seeb dominate Al Oruba

MUSCAT: Al Suwaiq emerged victorious against Dhofar in a highly anticipated match in the 22nd round of the Omantel League at Al Saada Sports Complex Stadium on Tuesday.


The match saw Hatem al Hamhami score the winning goal for Al Suwaiq in the final minutes, ending the game with a score of 1-0 in favour of Al Suwaiq.


The first-half of the match was goalless. In the second-half, Dhofar gained an early advantage but missed several opportunities to score. Al Suwaiq turned the game around with the winning goal in the 87th minute, despite Dhofar's advantage in the second-half.


With this victory, Al Suwaiq maintained second place in the OL table with 45 points, while Dhofar remained in sixth place with 33 points.


AL RUSTAQ HOLD AL NAHDA


In another match, Al Nahda drew against Al Rustaq, with a goal for each team, in the game held at Al Buraimi Complex Stadium.


Al Rustaq scored the first goal through Ahmed al Adawi in the 42nd minute, while Al Nahda scored the equaliser through their professional Inters G in the 51st minute.


Al Nahda have now jumped to the top of the league table with 46 points, and have a postponed match with Al Ittihad, while Al Rustaq reached third place with 39 points.


SEEB THRASH AL OROUBA


In another thrilling match within the 22nd round, Al Seeb thrashed Al Orouba 4-1 at Al Seeb Stadium. Al Orouba scored the first goal through Al Asim al Harthy in the 13th minute of the first half, but Al Seeb quickly turned the tables with three goals scored by Mohsin al Ghassani in the 31st minute, professional Gibula in the 39th minute and Ali al Busaidi in the 44th minute. Marwan Taib added the fourth goal in the 72nd minute.


Al Seeb have now jumped to fourth place with 38 points, while Al Orouba remained in penultimate position with 13 points.


Finally, Bahla and Sohar ended their match in a 1-1 draw, held at the Nizwa Complex.


Sohar scored the first goal through Saud al Muqbali in the 45th minute, while Bahla missed a penalty kick in the 72nd minute of the second half before Robert Jansah scored the equalising goal in the 76th minute.


Bahla have now reached seventh place with 32 points, while Sohar were ranked eighth with 31 points and have a postponed match with Al Seeb.
