A fire erupted in 3 ships anchored at the Port of Khasab, killing one person and injuring 11 others. The Royal Oman Police (ROP) said that the police command of Musandam Governorate, aided by the Coast Guard and the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA), responded soon after receiving a report about the fire that broke out in a tourist launch at the fishing port in the Wilayat of Khasab. A European national was killed in the fire and 11 others of various nationalities sustained mild to moderate injuries.
