Oman beach handball team will take part in different major international and regional assignments later this year and the earlier next year including their attendance in the ANOC World Beach Games Bali 2023 in August 2023 and 2024 IHF Men’s Beach Handball World Championships in June 2024 in Spain.

The Oman team delivered an impressive show in the Asian Men’s and Women’s Beach Handball Championship which concluded last March in Bali city, Indonesia. Oman ended the Asian Championship as runners-up after they suffered a 2-0 loss against Qatar in the final clash while Iran team finished in third place and Vietnam in fourth place.

The Oman Handball Association (OHA) set a long term preparatory plan for the team to affirm their top show in the forthcoming two world-class events. The team, under supervision of the national coach Hamood al Hasani, will begin their actual warm-up in June through a series of internal and external camps.

Both domestic and international warm up gatherings will feature top quality matches that will ensure the readiness of the players for the next crucial championships. It is expected that the coaching staff will be headed by coach Hamood al Hasani and assisted by Jaber al Balushi. The squad may have some new faces as the team doors are open to all the potential players.

Recently, the OHA officials feted Oman beach handball team and technical and administrative staff for their top efforts during the Asian Men’s and Women’s Beach Handball Championship. The ceremony took place on March 28 under the auspices of HH Sayyid Firas bin Fatik al Said. The appreciation from OHA will encourage the players to show their top performances in the near future major events.
