MUSCAT: The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) handled 6,207 medical emergencies in all governorates since the launch of the Home Ambulance Service in February 2022.
CDAA aims to provide quality ambulance services and respond to critical medical cases at homes by rapidly transferring patients to the nearest health institution to receive medical care. It’s one of the services provided by the CDAA to the society with the aim of saving people’s lives through applying advanced ambulance methods by competent experienced medical professionals.
As soon as receiving a service request via Nidaa app or through directly communicating with the operation centres, CDAA ambulances rush to the location and transfer the patient to a health institution.
The Home Ambulance Service was first launched in the governorates of Musandam, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahira, Al Wusta, North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah with the rest of the governorates followed in the second phase.
The service covers more than 14 types of medical emergencies related to the respiratory system, cardiac diseases, bone fractures, loss of consciousness, paralysis, severe bleeding, among others.
