Ayan Muscat, MCC in semis of Danube cricket tourney

MUSCAT: Ayan Muscat and MCC have qualified to the semifinals of Danube Ramadan Tennex Ball Cricket Tournament 2023, organised by Al Hail Cricket Team.


The Chief Development officer of Al Hail Cricket Club, Rafeeq al Balushi, said the semifinal matches will be played on Tuesday. "We are getting full support from the participating teams. A total of 16 teams divided in four groups are in the tournament with toppers of each group qualify into the semifinal."


In weekends, the tournament saw some exciting games. On day eight of tournament, Ayan Muscat won the toss and elected to bat first and managed to score 68 in 10 overs for nine wickets. In reply, Direction Bravos scored 58 runs in 10 overs for 8 wickets and lost the match by 10 runs. Bilal from Ayan Muscat was declared the man of the match.


The second match was played between Abeer Warriors and Qureshi Xl. Abeer captain Hussain won the toss and elected to bat first and they scored 83 all out in 9.4 overs. Saud scored 20 runs in 12 balls, Ovais Altaf scored 17 runs. In reply, Qureshi Xl scored 52 runs for 6 wickets in 10 overs. The Abeer Warriors won the match by 31 runs and got points in Group C. Ovais was declared man of the match.
