The holy month of Ramadhan is an opportunity for Muslims to improve their health in various ways, including fasting and exercise. One of the effective ways to exercise in Ramadhan is to exercise before breaking the fast. This period can be suitable for obtaining many health benefits.

According to Ali al Amri, a certified personal trainer and fitness expert, it’s best to exercise before breaking the fast, when energy levels are high. “The body can benefit from replenishing nutrients after the workout,” he said. Walking, bicycle riding, or any kind of exercise an hour before breaking the fast is beneficial, as this ensures the completion of exercise as the time for eating approaches. This can make it easier to compensate for the body’s loss of fluids and mineral salts, as well as obtain the necessary energy after exerting intense effort. Exercising before breakfast is effective for enhancing physical fitness, as it can help improve physical and muscular capacity and enhance overall body fitness.

“Exercise before iftar helps increase muscle mass and reduce fat, which improves body fat percentage and improves overall body shape,” Al Amri said.

Furthermore, exercising before breakfast improves the general and psychological health of a person. Studies have shown that exercising before breakfast helps improve blood sugar levels, lower blood pressure and improve cardiovascular health.

“It is essential to plan your exercise routine based on your current fitness level, goals and energy levels during Ramadhan,” advises Al Amri.

Exercise before breakfast can also speed up a person’s metabolism, which increases the pace at which calories are burned and boosts bodily energy. Additionally, it can aid in bettering digestion and digestive health. It increases a person’s degree of physical activity throughout the day and gives him more energy.

“Avoid pushing yourself too hard, especially if you’re new to exercising or have any medical conditions,” Al Amri said, adding that individuals who want to maintain their health during the holy month of Ramadhan should take advantage of the opportunity and exercise before breaking the fast on a regular basis.
