Al Seeb dominate Salalah in Ministry’s Shield

Al Seeb Club achieved a remarkable victory against Salalah Club in the second group competitions of the 13th edition of the Basketball Shield of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth for the 2022-2023 season. The game was held at the sub-hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.


The match started with Al Seeb taking an early lead with a shot from under the basket by their professional player Ibrahima Degen. Al Seeb’s area defence strategy was successful in preventing Salalah from taking advantage of opportunities. Al Seeb’s lead was further extended by 7 points from the same player, bringing the score to 9-0. Salalah managed to respond with a triple shot from Caesar al Balushi, closing the gap to 9-3.


In the second quarter, Al Seeb continued to dominate the game offensively and defensively, adding 22 points to their score through Noah al Balushi, Ibrahima Degen, Mazin al Hadidi, Noah al Amri and Moawiya al Harthy. On the other hand, Salalah scored only 5 points through Majid al Balushi and Caesar al Balushi. The first half ended with Al Seeb leading Salalah 43-17.


The third quarter saw Al Seeb continue their attack, scoring 26 points and investing in the experience of their players, while Salalah was only able to score 5 points. At the end of the third quarter, the score was 69-22 in favour of Al Seeb.


In the fourth quarter, Al Seeb continued their dominance and scored 36 points, while Salalah only managed to add 9 points to their score. The match ended with a resounding victory for Al Seeb, defeating Salalah with a score of 106-31.


The match was moderated by Rashid al Mushaifri as the first referee, Al Khalasi as the second referee, and Ali al Salmani as the third referee. The table officials were Miad al Hamdani, Yaqoub al Nadabi and Fatima al Harthy.
