Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MoH) on Thursday has issued a circular to withdraw Nestle Good Start Soothe powdered baby milk (infant formula) over concerns of possible bacterial risk in the product from the market.

"Nestlé Good Start Soothe: Canada 942 g" is a milk formula powder manufactured by the United States of America for infants from birth and onwards.

Batches Numbers:

301757651Z (EXP 2024 JL 18)

301757652Z (EXP 2024 JL 18)

301857651Z (EXP 2024 JL 19)

This Nestlé-branded formula is likely to be contaminated with Cronobacter, which may cause serious infections and often lead to death, particularly among young children. No confirmed diseases associated with this product so far.

To protect consumers’ health and safety and due to the possibility of importing this product personally from the producing country, the Ministry of Health advises whoever uses this infant formula (the batch numbers mentioned above ) to stop using it.

The Ministry indicates that the other products available in the local market are not included in this circular, noting that the batch numbers mentioned above of this product are not available in the Sultanate of Oman's markets.
