Eltmas, Shatha claim honours on third day

His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup for Camel Racing 2023 continued with an exciting third day of competitions at the Al Fulaij Racecourse in the Wilayat of Barka on Wednesday.


Fifteen rounds were divided into three categories. ‘Al Ythaa’ for four-year-old camels for 5 km with three cars, two icons, and a cash prize for the top ten. In addition, three rounds were allocated for ‘Al Thanaya’ five years old for 6 km with a car and two icons as rewards.


Four rounds were held in the ‘Al Hool’ category (6 years and above for 8 km) with a car and three icons as rewards. A round for ‘Ardah’, a category for human riders for 2 km, with a prize of a car was also held.


Al Yathaa category


The opening round on the third day was snatched by ‘Eltmas’ owned by Hilal bin Abdullah al Sheidi. In the second round ‘Rimas’ claimed the victory, owned by Hilal bin Abdullah al Sheidi. The third round was won by ‘Al Shahiniya’ owned by Khaled bin Mubarak al Wahibi. ‘Seoul’ owned by Saeed bin Yaqoob al Saeedi won the fourth round.


‘Shibl’ owned by Maher bin Salem al Jahafi, claimed the fifth round. ‘Muznh’ owned by Nasser bin Sabih al Wahibi, came first in the sixth round. The seventh round was claimed by ‘Shaheen’ owned by Salloum bin Alsagheer al Wahibi.


Al Thanaya Category


In the first round, ‘Al Thayer’ came first, owned by Talib bin Ali al Muharbi. ‘Soua’, owned by Talib bin Ali al Muharbi, came top in the second round. The third round was snatched by ‘Shatha’, owned by Saeed bin Hamad al Omari.


Al Hool Category


‘Al Fara’ owned by Modded bin Mubarak al Wahibi, came first in the first round of Al Hool categories. ‘Ghazwin’ owned by Hjn Al Basheer and trained by Obaid bin Mohammed al Wahibi, won the second round. ‘Qalb Alhadath’ owned by Hammoud bin Mohammed al Harthy won the third round. The fourth round was claimed by ‘Hazba’ owned by Badr bin Abdullah al Dari.


Ardah’ Category


The victory of the Ardah category in the last round was for ‘Raoud’ owned by Amer bin Salem al Zarei.


The competition will continue on its final day, with six main rounds for all categories, ‘Hagayeg’, ‘Lagaya’, ‘Ardah’, ‘Al Ythaa’ ‘Al Thanaya’ and ‘Al Hool’, with the camels qualified from earlier three qualification races in action for five HM Cups along with SUV cars as prizes.
