Al Bashayer and Al Seeb will meet in the final of the Oman Basketball League 2022-23 at the Suwltan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher on Thursday at 7 pm.
The match will be held under the auspices of Azzan bin Qasim al Busaidy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, and in the presence of Eng Khalfan bin Saleh al Naabi, Chairman of the Oman Basketball Association, members of the Board of Directors, and club representatives.
Al Bashayer and Seeb have qualified after difficult and exciting matches in the Golden Square held on Wednesday. Al Bashayer narrowly defeated Nizwa 70-64, while Al Seeb qualified after defeating Ahli Sidab 55-51.
The final match between Al Bashayer and Al Seeb promises to be a thrilling match, as both teams boast a combination of local and foreign professional stars.
Led by its national coach Kazem al Balushi, Al Seeb have prepared well for the title-clash despite some injuries. The team’s star players include Hussam al Kiyumi, Zakaria bin Thani al Wahaibi, Al Waqqas al Hinai, and professionals Damith Morey and Ibrahima Degen.
On the other hand, Al Bashayer, led by Egyptian coach Mahmoud Azmy, seeks to achieve victory with their top-experienced squad.
Saeed al Saadi, Mahmoud al Souli, Ahmed al Halali, Hadid Beit Bakhit, professional player Aaron, Rashid al Zuhaibi, Qassem al Qasimi and teammates are expected to make a good effort in the final.
Before the final, Nizwa and Ahli Sidab will clash in an interesting third-place play-off encounter at 5 pm.
