Hotel revenues exceed RO 20m in Oman by Jan 2023

Muscat: The revenues of 3-5 star hotel surged by 50.8% as at the end of January 2023 compared to the corresponding period in 2022 to stand at RO 20.79 million, according to the latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).


Occupancy rate also recorded a rise by 31.3% to reach 53.7% compared to 40.9% during the corresponding period in 2022.


The number of 3-5 star hotels’ guests stood at 173,313, comprising an increase by 65% till the end of January 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.


The number of guests from Oceania recorded a significant surge by 383.1% from 767 guests by the end of January 2022 to 3,705 guests by the end of January 2023. European guests followed by recording a rise by 120.2% from 26,461 guests to 58,256 guests till the end of January 2023.


The number of Asian guests stood at 21,098 till the end of January 2023, constituting an increase by 96.1% compared to the corresponding period in 2022. GCC guests came next with a rise by 81.9% going from 5,919 guests to 10,767 guests till the end of January 2023.
