The establishment of the Journey Management Centre (JMC) aims to achieve a greater degree of safety performance of the group’s crew and equipment, and improve the visibility of driver behaviour, utilisation and asset location.

It also aims to enhance the level of compliance with legal and statutory regulations, as well as customer requirements in the areas of occupational health and safety, risk management and control framework. It also aims to achieve high levels of productivity while lowering overall costs for the customer and provide meaningful data for effective management of journeys, besides helping Omani youth to gain better skills.

He further emphasised that “the statistics and track record have demonstrated the importance of JMC and its benefits, and we are confident that the Centre would be an effective platform in the upcoming period to assist the Group in achieving its growth aspirations”.

Engineer Mohammad al Salmani, Infrastructure Director of Petroleum Development of Oman (PDO), expressed his pleasure on the inauguration of this Centre, stating, " We are extremely pleased to attend the Inauguration ceremony of the Journey Management Centre (JMC), which will contribute to providing comprehensive protection, safety and control of the various trips carried out by Truckoman Group throughout the Sultanate of Oman ".

"The protection systems are among the most critical aspects that we had to focus on," said the CEO of Truckoman Group, "and the JMC will help effectively to monitor the safety of the fleet drivers, in addition to serving the company at all its operational levels."

The ceremony program also included a visual presentation by Amina al Lawaeteyah, a Truckoman Group JMC staff member, where she gave a comprehensive overview of JMC’s objectives and scope of work, and an overview of the development of the Centre since its inception.

She stated that the Centre was started in a primitive way by conducting its operations manually on paper as well as using basic computer programmes until it was upgraded to a fully digitised Centre, and this was built wholly by the Truckoman Group team.

Amina emphasised that the JMC Software Solution assists the Centre in monitoring driver journeys and contributes to their safety by ensuring the safe arrival of their trips from and to various locations.

Nader al Jahwari, Journey Manager of Truckoman Group, provided an overview of the benefits of the JMC Software Solution programme, notably its approach to dealing with emergencies.

He also highlighted the capabilities of the software and the Centre in monitoring and following-up on all trips to ensure that the driver arrives safely and with the highest quality of monitoring and follow-up through the use of IVMS, which helps to provide safety for drivers throughout their various journeys.

The inauguration event also featured the introduction of the Centre's other staff members, as well as a discussion of certain specific issues and how to deal with them through the Centre.

Yasir al Balushi, Journey Manager of Truckoman Group, stated in this regard: "The adopted program in JMC is an effective tool in following up and monitoring the journeys of the drivers, as it provides comprehensive information about trips, which in turn guarantees exact information for the drivers related to their journeys, as well as facilitating communications between the concerned parties."

At the end of the ceremony, Dr Mohamed bin Musa al Yousef presented a souvenir gift to Engineer Mohammad al Salmani, expressing his gratitude and appreciation for all the support provided by PDO to Truckoman over the last several years.
