The 20-year-old Omani artist Jood Al Hinai’s path from a high school student to a student of interior design and a budding artist has been nothing short of extraordinary. The prestigious “Salon des Artistes Français,” which brought together artists from all over the world to showcase their work, recently hosted an exhibition of Al Hinai’s artwork in Paris, France. The Grand Palais Ephemere hosted the exhibition from February 15 until February 19.

Al Hinai was searching for venues in 2022 to display her artwork when she came across a post from the Art Capital Exhibition in Paris. She thought the application form was still open, but it turned out to be closed. She waited until 2023 when they reopened. A jury selects artists for each of the areas of the Salon des Artistes Français, which include painting, sculpture, architecture, engraving, and photography.

Al Hinai’s piece “A Child Sewing” was chosen by the jury for the painting area of the show on December 9th, 2022. The piece of art is a stunning acyclic painting that conveys emotion and tells a tale. Several observers believed the painting to be a photograph due to its meticulous details, composition, lighting, shadows, colours, and emotions, according to Al Hinai.

Al Hinai was thrilled to be a part of her first international exhibition. She described her experience as “a very excellent chance, full of inspiration since I got to meet so many amazing artists from different cultures that had different styles of art. I’m overjoyed. Her involvement was a novel experience that put her in contact with different artists from around the world.

Al Hinai’s family, who have always been encouraging and supporting, has served as her inspiration throughout her quest. She also appreciates the friendships, love, and encouragement she has received from her coworkers, professors, and fans on social media.

Al Hinai received a tag with the word “mention” next to her painting. This tag is awarded by the judges to the preferred artworks and is the first step to obtaining bronze, silver, or gold medals in the future. Al Hinai concludes, “Your goals have no expiration date. Work hard to achieve your goals and more. With an eye on the future, Al Hinai wants to create artistic works that show concept originality, exhibit globally, and have her own solo exhibition. Al Hinai has many goals and ambitions for the future, and she is determined to achieve them.
