Muscat: The Ministry of Education, represented by the Department of Electronic Information Security, is implementing the digital security week initiative, which its activities kick off on Sunday under the slogan “Digital Communication for Societal Success”.

On the importance of this initiative and the mechanism of its implementation in the various schools of the Sultanate of Oman, Ahmed al Ghatrifi, Assistant Director of the Department of Electronic Information Security at the Ministry, said: “It is an embodiment of the Royal directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik emphasising the necessity of sensing the size of the responsibility that rests on society, its institutions and individuals, in dealing with and caring about building a family and raising children, benefiting from technology and digital and social communication, and not relying on social networks alone in raising children. All educational directorates and the Directorate-General of Special Education and Continuous Learning, in light of the approved initiative document, in cooperation with the Department of Electronic Information Security in the Ministry, prepared an implementation plan and formed work teams, as well as preparing an integrated programme during the initiative period for school students and children, as well as their parents and those in charge of education and raising children."
