

The Sultanate of Oman will take part in the Berlin International Travel and Tourism Fair 2023(ITB), to be held between March 7 and 9.
ITB Berlin is the world's largest tourism industry fair; it brings together countries, tourist destinations, tour operators, airlines, travel agents, booking agents, and hotels.
The Sultanate of Oman pavilion at ITB Berlin 2023 will showcase the tourism capabilities and sites that are unique to the country, with the presence of concerned entities and companies which are promoting the Sultanate of Oman in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT).
The fair will include various bilateral meetings between specialists in the Omani tourism sector and their counterparts abroad with the aim of promoting tourism exchange.
This edition of the Berlin International Travel and Tourism Fair 2023 (ITB), comes with the tourism sector's recovery from the effects of the Corona Virus Pandemic, while the statistical data for the year 2022, showed that, the Sultanate of Oman received about 2.9 million visitors by the end of December 2022, recording an increase of 348.2%, compared with the same period of 2021.
The data also showed that the total revenues of the Hotels in the Sultanate of Oman in the year 2022, reached RO186 million, where the tourism sector represents a tributary and a vital source of radical and tangible contribution to economic diversification and to the gross domestic product (GDP) of the Sultanate of Oman.
The tourism sector also contributes to raising the standard of living, creating various tourism options, and achieving in-country value added to the country’s local communities.
The volume of targeted investments in the tourism sector during the period of 2021-2023, reached RO3 billion, and the work is currently underway on various investment projects, estimated at RO1.7 billion.
