The unprecedented rise in digital and social media resulted in many readers turning to the Internet for their daily news and entertainment.

Despite this shift and the emergence of grassroots publications, traditional print media still plays a vital role in the society, providing in-depth coverage of important issues and offering a level of credibility and accountability.

The Oman Daily Observer has been providing news and information to the citizens and residents of Oman for more than 40 years. The experience and expertise of its newsroom are not only time-tested, but within the last decade, it has been the pioneer of many innovations in news delivery in the country.

In order to reach a new audience and cater to the needs of the mobile-dependent era, the newspaper is once again embarking on a new journey with the launch of its new digital magazine.

‘The Correspondent’ is a monthly publication that curates thought-provoking essays, interviews and stories from different industry experts. Every month, the magazine zooms in on a particular topic, covering business, sports, lifestyle, art, and international and local trends in news and world affairs.“Times are changing fast, and the appetite for reliable information has become more important.”

“Innovating a new way of providing this information and tapping on the digital trends to reach an even bigger audience has always been part of the Observer’s DNA in its mission to deliver news when and where it matters,” said Abdullah al Shueili, Editor-in-Chief of the Oman Daily Observer.

Released every month, ‘The Correspondent’ will be distributed across all Observer’s social media platforms for free and can be accessed through the newspaper’s WhatsApp accounts, and central to all of this is the website at www.omanobserver.om, where the magazine can be downloaded for free.
