Al Seeb Club were crowned champions of the first edition of the Beach Handball League after defeating Muscat Club 2-1 in the final on Monday at the sand court in the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.
The closing ceremony was held under the auspices of Adel bin Khadim bin Saeed al Zarei, Chairman of Masirah Club in the presence of Dr Saeed bin Ahmed al Shehri, Chairman of Oman Handball Association.
The first set saw intense competition between the two teams who exchanged goals. Seeb edged ahead with a score of 15-14.
In the second set, the two teams entered with the same enthusiasm and sharpness. However, the Muscat team had the advantage after being able to dominate the second half by 24-12. The match was decided by a penalty shoot-out, which was won by Seeb 7-6 to claim the final match 2-1.
The match was moderated by the international arbitration crew consisting of Walid al Sinani and Younis al Khasbi, and table referees Salim al Ghazali and Mohammad al Battashi.
In the match for the third and fourth places, Oman Club succeeded in defeating Al Suwaiq 2-1.
After the end of the match, chief guest Adel bin Khadim al Zarei crowned Al Seeb Club with the first place cup with gold medals, Muscat Club won second place and silver medals, and Oman Club won the bronze medals.
