The runners-up of the Arabian Gulf Cup in Iraq will take on Lebanon in an international friendly match in Muscat on March 27.
It will be the first presence for the Red Warriors after their participation in the last edition of the Gulf Cup in Basra city.
The preparatory fixture will be played during the Fifa days in the holy month of Ramadhan as part of the team’s preparation for the forthcoming assignments including the 2023 AFC Asian Cup in Qatar and the AFC Asian qualifiers for World Cup in 2026 and AFC Asian Cup in 2027.
The upcoming gathering for the national team will take place after the conclusion of Omantel League week 18 games and the HM Cup final match.
The national team was supposed to compete in the tenth edition of the West Asian Championship, which was postponed by the host country United Arab Emirates on February 7. The scheduled dates of the tournament were set during March-April. The new dates of the event have not been declared yet by the West Asian Federation.
