MUSCAT: Fagor FCC dominated Glam Homes Properties to beat them by 72 runs in the last match of the Oman Cricket League A Division 2022-23 powered by Khimji Ramdas LLC to emerge champions.

Fagor registered five victories in seven games in the season to claim the top spot in the standings by net run-rate.

Opting to bat first, Fagor FCC’s openers started well as Shazaf Ali (60 off 59b; 6x4,3x6) along with Nishanth M stitched a 96-run partnership. Losing couple of wickets in clusters, Fagor FCC successfully arched back with Vinukumar CG (55 off 52b; 6x4,1x6) and Sultan Ahmed ensuring they get to a respectable total. Fagor FCC

finished with 250-8 in 50 overs with Nalinda P (2-44) and Flourry MG (2-44) picking wickets for Glam Homes.

In reply, Glam Homes got off to a subtle start but kept losing wickets at regular intervals with only Dileepa Srilal (58 off 75; 4x4,1x6) being not-out to hold onto their innings. Glam Homes were bundled out for 178 in 37.5 overs failing to chase down the target and falling to third position in the standings.

Fagor FCC on the other hand clinched the vital two points assuring them the title for the season.

Nowfal Raymarakkar, Manager of Fagor FCC, said: “We love getting past nail-biting games. It was a do-or-die match for us and I am delighted the way our captain Parameshwaran Shankar and the boys expressed themselves. It was an exemplary season for us winning five out of seven games in the A Division by the barest of margins and the closest of competition. We had a clear mindset and executed our plans well. Credit to our players and the Fagor FCC Management for supporting us in the A Division to claim the title coming through the ranks."

"We are looking forward to the season ahead and the competition Premier Division will bring forward to us. I thank the Oman Cricket for providing us their extended support and enable us to showcase our cricketing frontier ahead. We envision to play our best quality of cricket in the Premier Division in the coming season!”
