Yalla Shabab, Oman Stallions register victories

MUSCAT: Yalla Shabab beat Zawawi Powertech by 4 wickets and Oman Stallions beat Ibn Abdul Samad (IAS CT) by 44 runs in the Oman Cricket Premier Division League powered by Muscat Pharmacy at the weekend.


Opting to bat first, Zawawi Powertech cruised their innings through courtesy of Gowtham Sagar (40 off 62b; 3x4,2x6) , Muhammed Raheem (32 off 37b; 3x4,2x6) and Prabhakaran Kannan (29 off 27b; 3x4,1x6) scoring 199 all out in 49.1 overs.


Muhammed Zahid (3-43), Nester Dhamba (2-36) and Wasim Ali (2-31) were the key wicket-takers for the Yalla Shabab.


In reply, Yalla Shabab’s Hasnain Ul Wahab (73 off 80b; 8x4,2x6) and Hannan Rizwan (61 off 74b; 7x4) sealed the deal to chase down the target in 42.4 overs. Nishad KS (2-32) was the key striker to restrict the chase to an extent for Zawawi. Yalla Shabab registered their fifth win in six games in the first round of the Premier Division.

STALLIONS THIRD


In another match, Stallions elected to bat first against IAS CT. Stallions kept losing wickets at regular intervals with only Jitenkumar Ramanandi (69 off 83b; 7x4) and Yasir Ali (38 off 78b; 1x4,1x6) being able to notch a few runs. Stallions reached to 149 all out in 39.2 overs. Mehdi Hasan (4-40), Rana Naeem (3-11) and Sagheer Ahmed (2-16) picked key wickets for IAS CT.


In reply, the Stallions bowlers were on point with their lines and picked wickets not allowing IAS CT’s batsmen to settle. Mohammed Waqas (52 off 74b; 3x4,2x6) was the lone scorer for IAS CT helping them get to 105 all out in 31.4 overs falling short by 44 runs to the target. Bilal Khan (4-30), Mohit Patel (4-40) and Faisal Shah (2-15) were the


wicket-takers for the Stallions. Oman Stallions stand at third in the standings with 5 wins out of 7 games in the first round of the Premier Division.
