SalamAir celebrated its sixth year with an array of activities at the Muscat Airport.

Captain Mohamed Ahmed, CEO of SalamAir, said: “Myself and the SalamAir Team are incredibly proud to be celebrating another year of successful operation. We are pleased because we have achieved many milestones, survived, and overcome many adversities with grace and success. Starting very small, it’s safe to say we have become a benchmark in the industry, and we couldn’t have achieved it without the support of our customers and the die-hard supporters of our vision.

SalamAir family needs a special mention as we celebrate our anniversary, as their resilience and can-do attitude contributed to us celebrating yet another year”.

Starting commercial operations in 2017, SalamAir is a major operator of domestic destinations in the sultanate as it continued to expand its network over the last year by expanding into two more local airports, Masirah & Duqm while opening once domestic airports to international travel with flights from Suhar to Shiraz, Trabzon & Calicut. SalamAir boasts six international routes for the year, the latest being direct flights to Prague and Bangkok.

Additionally, SalamAir has expanded its fleet with six A320neo and four A321neo aircraft, which received international recognition as one of the youngest fleets in the world and Asia.

SalamAir also introduced the A321neo Cargo Freighter this year, becoming the first airline in the country to introduce a freighter aircraft to its fleet.

SalamAir had placed an order for six new Embraer E2 aircraft earlier in the year, which is said to serve domestic routes and regional destinations.
