Oman strongly condemns tearing of Holy Quran copy

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has expressed its strong denunciation and condemnation of an extremist’s tearing a copy of the Holy Quran in the city of The Hague, Netherlands, noting that such action provokes Muslims’ feelings and incites violence and hatred.


In a statement issued by the the Foreign Ministry here on Wednesday, Oman reiterated its stance calling for concerted international efforts to consolidate the values of tolerance, coexistence and respect among nations and peoples of different cultures. Oman’s stance criminalizes all acts that promote the ideology of extremism and hatred and desecrate religions and peoples’ beliefs.
