Hot air balloon services started in North Sharqiyah

Muscat: Sheikh Ali bin Ahmed al Shamsi, Governor of North Sharqiyah, in the presence of Saeed al Obaidani, Director General of Tourism Development, inaugurated the hot air balloon commercial operations of Royal Balloons.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) also granted the Turkish company the permit for hot air balloon commercial operations in the Sultanate.


The company met all conditions that are required for such services, a statement from CAA said.


To enhance the tourism sector and economic diversification in the Sultanate of Oman.


Earlier, to attract investors, CAA issued the type acceptance certificate for hot air balloons in Oman.


‘In the context of supporting sources of economic diversification in the civil aviation sector, CAA issued the first certificate of type acceptance for hot air balloons in Oman, in accordance with international standards and recommendations set by the International Civil Aviation Organization,’ a statement said
