CAIRO: The Sultanate of Oman participated on Sunday in the third session of the third legislative term of the Arab Parliament, which was held under the chairmanship of Adel bin Abdul Rahman al Assoumi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
The delegation of the State Council at the Arab Parliament included Dr Hassan bin Ali al Madhani, member of the State Council. and member of the Foreign Affairs, Politics and National Security Committee of the Arab Parliament, and Shaikh Ali bin Nasser al Mahrouqi, member of the State Council.
The session was initiated by the Parliament Speaker who affirmed the Arab Parliament's firm and permanent support for the Palestinian cause, and by reviewing the reports of the Parliament's committees.
The request of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement to obtain observer status in the Arab Parliament was also discussed along with the Arab Parliament’s sponsorship of an annual award to support Arabic language. - ONA
