Alshawamikh signs pact to utilise advanced water technologies in oil sector

Well-known Omani oilfield services company Alshawamikh Oil Services signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with IDWT Group (International Desalination and Water Treatment Group and their partners represented by the Austrian company DEW (Devise Energy & Water) and Devise Engineering, a Greek company, specializing in advanced water treatment and recycling solutions.


The agreement aimed to exchange cooperation in providing the latest technologies and methods related to water sustainability for uses related to oil sector operations. It was signed by Dr Aflah al Hadhrami, CEO of Alshawamikh Oil Services, and Omar Elmaraghy, CEO of IDWT.


Dr Aflah said: “The signing of this agreement enhances the company’s strategy and plans to enter into vital projects within the Energy sector. This partnership is a result of the company's aspirations to engage in projects related to the use of modern technologies and techniques related to water treatment in the oil sector..


He added that IDWT has extensive experience in desalination and wastewater treatment solutions, and is active in the water industry providing reliable solutions to a variety of water-related issues, noting that IDWT has implemented 23 projects in the Sultanate of Oman over the past 15 years.


Alshawamikh Oil Services is one of the super local community contractors within the energy market in the Sultanate of Oman, including the sustainable energy field, and is seeking to fulfill Oman's ambition in the energy sector, regarding the Oman 2040 Vision.
