MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman has been named among the world's 18 most beautiful countries by Veranda, a US-based design and lifestyle magazine.
The list published by Hearst Magazines Division of Hearst Communications, was compiled through a travel survey that aimed to narrow down the most breathtaking places on earth from among the 193 vastly different nations.
Maldives topped the list, followed by Costa Rica, Tanzania, US, Peru, Japan, Iceland, Kenya, Thailand, Namibia, Greece, New Zealand, Chile, Italy, Vietnam, Switzerland, Canada, and Oman.
Veranda praised each country for their unique and stunning offerings, from intriguing architecture and colorful landscapes to complex histories and centuries-old traditions.
