Salalah - The Salalah Free Zone will mark the opening of the Phelix Pharmaceutical Industries Company, with investments amounting to about $150 million, on Wednesday.

The opening ceremony of the factory will be sponsored by Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health.

The factory will help transform the Salalah Free Zone into a regional center for the pharmaceutical and biological industries.

The project has been developed in three phases, including the establishment of a factory for pharmaceutical products and a center for development and research.

The company plans to produce more than 100 pharmaceutical products, including various types of drugs in the first phase and vaccines in the second phase.

It will have a production capacity of one billion medicinal tablets and one billion capsules annually in the first phase.

The products are currently marketed in the Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, and other countries in the region. The factory was built according to approved international specifications, which qualifies it to enter the global markets.
