Pocari Sweat school football tourney enters semifinals stage

The Pocari Sweat school football tournament which is under the organisation of Oman School Sports Association (OSSA) entered the semifinals stage. The matches of the tournament are being held in the Cheltenham Muscat School from January 15 to 19.


Eight teams are taking part in the tournament including Hai Al Dhaher School from Muscat, Manbaa Al Khair School from South Al Sharqiyah, Al Ishraq School from North Al Batinah, Al Turath School from Al Dakhiliyah, Al Maarefa School from Dhofar besides the international schools including Muscat International School, Indian School Al Ghubra and hosts Cheltenham Muscat School.


The final match of the tournament will be held on Thursday morning. Honourable Dr Badriya bint Ibrahim bin Khalfan al Shehiyah, Deputy Chairman of State Council, will be the chief guest in presence of OSSA officials.


The group stages of the tournament featured strong competitions among the participating schools with an aim of securing direct tickets to the finals.
