AL MUDHAIBI: The Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi in the Governorate of North Al Sharqiyah will host from January 16-25 the second edition of the International Sculpture Symposium.
This is being organised by the Sports Team of the Al Mudhaibi Sports Club, under the supervision of the Governor’s Office of North Al Sharqiyah.
The global event aims to spread the culture of sculpture in the Omani society so that the art will gain wide popularity.
The meeting also mains to promote the various types of arts and for the forum to be supportive and motivating Omani youth.
In addition the forum also aims to introduce the the participating international artists from different countries of the world about Omani culture, customs and traditions.
The forum will see the participation of 17 male and female sculptors from 11 countries, including six sculptors from the Sultanate of Oman, and one sculptor each from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Sudan, Jordan, Tunisia, Iran, Australia, Italy, Slovenia and Tanzania. The forum will place the Sultanate of Oman on the map of international forums and exhibitions in the world of sculpture.
The organisers seeks to create an international artistic and cultural movement represented in the village of Khadra Bani Difaa in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi, in addition to displaying sculptural works in an art museum of contemporary sculpture with nature.
The International Symposium for Sculpture includes many events, entertainment activities, cultural evenings, tourist trips for artists. The visitors will also be able to acquaint the cultural aspects in the governorates of Oman and the aesthetics that abounds them.
A group of Omani artists in various fields of art, university and college students, and visitors in general are expected to attend throughout the days of the forum. — ONA
