Muscat: As the number of international tourists increased by 172 per cent in 2022, the Sultanate of Oman expects that visitors to the Sultanate of Oman will continue to increase in the coming months from various countries of the world.
To meet the growing demand for tourists visiting the Sultanate of Oman, the concerned authorities have exempted citizens of 103 countries from the requirement to obtain a prior entry visa, in addition to allowing residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (GCC) to enter the Sultanate of Oman without a prior visa, according to a statement from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.
However, GCC residents who are not nationals of those countries exempted from visa requirements need to pay and obtain the visa after reaching Oman ports.
It may be noted that the GCC is the largest source market for tourists to the Sultanate of Oman as per the surveys conducted by specialized companies.
The revenues of 3 to 5-star hotels in the Sultanate of Oman have increased by 91.7 to reach more than OMR 161 million by the end of November 2022.
The National Center for Statistics and Information(NCSI), revealed that a significant increase in the revenues of hotels with a rating of 3 to 5 stars increased by 91.7 percent until the end of November 2022, reaching RO161,262,000.
