SUHAR: Al Batinah Municipality held a celebration to honour the winners of the Municipal Excellence Projects, under the auspices of Mohammed bin Sulaiman al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, on Wednesday.
Engineer Sulaiman bin Hamad al Sunaidi, Director-General of North Al Batinah Municipality, said that the municipal services projects are witnessing significant development in all wilayats of the governorate. He noted that the departments of municipal affairs aim to achieve distinctiveness in the future projects which include development of industrial areas, slaughterhouses and beaches.
A number of outstanding municipal projects that were executed in North Al Batinah Governorate were reviewed during the event.
The department of municipal affairs in the Wilayat of Liwa won the first place of the municipal excellence competition while the walk track in the Wilayat of Saham came in first place as the best municipal project.
In the category industrial areas development, Saham industrial area won first place. The municipal slaughterhouse in Liwa won first place in municipal slaughterhouse excellence and the department of municipal affairs in Al Khaboura won the first award for attention to beaches. — ONA
