Qurum Natural Park will be one of the venues of the newly announced Muscat Nights.

Muscat Municipality on Monday also announced the closure of Al Naseem Public Park to visitors from Tuesday.

Both these parks have been closed for preparations for the activities of Muscat Nights 2023, which will start on January 19 to February 4.

While Muscat Municipality is yet to reveal the details of the Muscat Nights, including new features, this year's event will be a successor to the Muscat Festival, which was held in the capital annually since its inception in 1998.

The last edition of the Muscat Festival was held in 2019 as the mega event was suspended following the Covid-19 related restrictions.

In the early days of the Muscat Festival, Qurum Natural Park used to co-host the event as one of the two venues before it was shifted to Al Amerat Park, mainly to resolve parking woes and traffic movement issues.

The festival highlights the culture and heritage of the Sultanate of Oman, apart from entertainment and other activities.

Muscat Municipality, which recently announced the launch of a competition to design a logo for Muscat Nights, has picked the design of Ali bin Said bin Sulaiman al Waeli.

It said 34 participants took part in the competition.
