

MUSCAT: RSTS FCC thumped Safara International by 88 runs in the D Division and Ahli Bank beat OCT Al Amerat B in the G Division of the Oman Cricket League Season 2022-23.
In the match between RSTS FCC and Safara International, RSTS FCC won the toss and elected to bat first. RSTS FCC got off to a shaky start with their first wicket falling in the second over of the match.
Josephin Joseph and Shahid Afridi took the responsibility and steadily built a partnership of 78 runs. Death over finesse from Rueben Kumar scoring 47 of 24 balls with 4 boundaries and a maximum and Shahid Afridi’s chance-less 73 off 53 balls took RSTS FCC to 190 runs in 20 overs.
In response, Safara International could not capitalise with only three of their batsmen reaching double digits falling to brilliant bowling spells from the young Omidu Medagoda picking 4 wickets , Anzil Nazumudeen picking 3 wickets and Rueben Kumar picking two wickets. AHLI BANK PREVAIL
In the match between Ahli Bank and OCT Al Amerat B, Ahli Bank won the toss and elected to bat first. Ahli Bank’s openers made the most of the call and thrashed OCT Al Amerat’s bowling with the opening pair of Ittecheria K and Tawsif Tambe stitching a 144 run partnership. Mohammed Zain’s flourishing touches in the death overs took them to a record highest score this year with 221 runs on the board.
Abdullah al Balushi picked 2 wickets in the innings for OCT Al Amerat B.
In reply, OCT Al Amerat B could just notch 137 runs losing 7 wickets, falling short by 84 runs. Abdullah al Balushi kept fighting for his team scoring 55 of 53 balls with 8 boundaries. Ahli Bank registered their fourth win of the league in 6 games.
