Indian Embassy clinch APL title

MUSCAT: Embassy of India won the Awadh Premier League (APL) 2022 title after beating Indian Social Club (ISC) by 7 runs in the final on December 17.


The Indian Social Club Oman Awadhi Wing conducted its second edition of Awadh Premier League on December 16 and 17 at Al Hail Cricket Ground.


An exhibition match was played between Indian Embassy and Indian Social Club Oman on December 17.


Embassy of India won the toss and elected to bat first. The Indian Embassy put up a huge total of 116 in 12 overs and it was not easy for ISC to chase the target and fell 7 runs short.


Karamjeet Matharoo, Vice-Chairman of ISC Oman, handed over the winners trophy to captain Praveen. Saji Abraham of ISC received the runners-up trophy.


Individual gifts hampers were provided to all the members of winners and runners-up teams sponsored by WJ Towell.


Sameer of Indian Embassy was selected as the man of the match and the award was sponsored by Arms Computers.


The sponsors were presented mementos by Madhulika Gupta, founder and Co-Convenor of Awadhi Wing, who was also the main commentator for the event with Shital Kumar and Seema Chaudhery.


Maanas Kapoor, Sports Secretary of Awadhi Wing, mentioned it was a great tournament. "I am happy to announce that the third edition of APL will be conducted in March 2023," he said.
