Omantel seals deal with Salam Air to distribute co-branded Tourist SIM cards on flight

MUSCAT: Omantel, the leading provider of integrated telecommunication and technology solutions in the Sultanate of Oman, has partnered with Salam Air to provide Tourist SIM cards to tourists travelling on the airline’s international and domestic flights.


Salam Air’s unique flight coverage offers a different demographic and target area that is of a huge benefit to Omantel. This stems from being one of Oman’s national flights carrier that reach countries and cities constantly on demand.


The 1-year partnership, which aligns with Omantel’s digital transformation strategy, is focused on providing a hassle-free SIM connectivity through the Omantel application; Hence contributing to enhancing the travel experience for visitors, through allowing them to experience the widest 5G network in town and benefit from the unique services it offers.


Omantel’s CCO, Eng Aladdin Baitfadhil, said, “We are glad about our partnership with Salam Air as it will enable us to expand our customer base by tapping the right target audience. Providing tourist SIM cards during inbound flights will offer the visitors seamless connectivity even before setting foot on land, sparing them time and effort upon arrival”.
