

MUSCAT: Her Highness The Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman, on Wednesday visited Association for Children with Disabilities (ACD) in Al Azaiba in the Governorate of Muscat. She took note of the services, training, educational and rehabilitation programmes extended to children with disabilities. She was accompanied by HH Sayyida Hujaijah bint Jaifer al Said, ACD Chairperson and Dr Laila bint Ahmed al Najar, Minister of Social Development.
During the visit, The Honourable Lady inspected the facilities of the ACD, its halls, equipment and devices used for training children with disabilities.
She listened to a briefing about the efforts being exerted towards the welfare of the handicapped and the development of their skills, as well as the ACD’s role in assisting the families of the disabled to incorporate them into society.
The Honourable Lady toured the ACD's exhibition and lauded the innovative contribution of women volunteers.
She expressed her admiration for the products made by children with disabilities enrolled at the ACD.
At the conclusion of the visit, The Honourable Lady expressed her appreciation for the ACD staff and volunteers’ sincere efforts and noble quest to help this segment of children get access to the best specialised services.
The ACD staff and volunteers expressed their overwhelming happiness at the visit of The Honourable Lady and listening to her directives, which, they said, reflect her constant care and great attention to this segment of society. -- ONA
