Culture week begins at Nizwa

NIZWA: The Culture Week organised by Nizwa Cultural Centre began on Tuesday.


The week included many cultural, artistic and theatrical events with the broad participation of governmental and private institutions, clubs, libraries and public cultural centres. The week comes as part of the Nizwa Cultural Centre's initiative to organise activities and events that enrich culture.


The events started with four training sessions. The first session was about 3D printing, presented by Hilal bin Hamad bin Nasser al Muadi. It aims to teach about the basics of 3D printing, and training in making 3D models that serve schools, colleges and universities. It was held at the Science and Technology Centre of the Directorate-General of Education in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.


The second training episode of the programme was about the basics of video production and montage. It was presented by the journalist Ali bin Mohammed al Busaidi, Director of the Ministry of Information in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. The aim was to create a spirit of competition among young people in mobile photography, promote tourism and encourage creativity by producing pictures for competition. The seminar will last three days and include practical learning in the visual sciences hall at the centre.


The third workshop on pottery was presented by Khalfan bin Marhoon al Rawahi. It targets artists and aims to transform ceramic pots in the Nizwa Cultural Centre to artistic works.


The fourth workshop on playing oud was hosted by Muhammad Sadiq. It also will last for three days.
